Bottom line: Mahindra will launch four new SUVs in 2026 – the XUV 7XO, XUV 5, XUV 9 (all ICE) and the XUV 3XO EV – each aimed at a different price bucket and offering fresh design, better mileage and competitive pricing.

Design & Looks

The upcoming XUV 7XO adopts Mahindra’s new design language with a bold front grille, sleek LED headlamps and a coupe‑like roofline that feels more premium than the current XUV700. The XUV 5 keeps a rugged stance, featuring muscular wheel arches and a higher ground clearance for Indian roads. The XUV 9, positioned as a flagship, will have a longer wheelbase, chrome‑accented bumper and a panoramic sunroof. Finally, the XUV 3XO EV mirrors the XUV 7XO’s silhouette but adds a closed‑mouth front and aerodynamic side skirts to improve range.

Performance & Mileage

All three ICE models share a new 2.0‑litre turbocharged engine that delivers 210 hp and 350 Nm of torque, paired with a 6‑speed manual or 8‑speed automatic. Mahindra claims a combined fuel economy of 15‑16 km/l for the XUV 7XO and XUV 5, while the larger XUV 9, with a 2.2‑litre diesel option, targets 13‑14 km/l.

The XUV 3XO EV will use a 75 kWh battery pack, producing 200 hp and an estimated range of 450 km on a single charge (ARAI). Fast‑charging brings the battery to 80 % in about 45 minutes.

Price & Rivals

Mahindra is pricing the XUV 7XO between ₹12.99 lakh and ₹16.49 lakh, the XUV 5 from ₹10.99 lakh to ₹14.99 lakh, and the XUV 9 will start around ₹18.99 lakh. The XUV 3XO EV is expected to launch at ₹20.99 lakh (including government incentives). These numbers put the new SUVs against the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier in the ICE segment, while the XUV 3XO EV competes with the Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV.
