Italian carmaker Pagani has introduced its latest marvel, the Pagani Utopia Roadster. This new model is a convertible version of the highly praised Utopia hypercar and will be produced in a very limited run of just 130 units. The key feature of the Utopia Roadster is its removable roof, which has a glass panel that can be taken off or put back as needed. Additionally, a soft-top is stored behind the seats for extra protection if the weather changes unexpectedly.
One of Pagani’s biggest achievements with this model is keeping the dry weight at 1,280kg, the same as the coupe version. This was made possible by completely redesigning the monocoque chassis to optimize strength and stiffness without adding the heavy reinforcements usually needed for convertibles.
Under the hood, the Utopia Roadster houses the same Mercedes-AMG-sourced 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine as the coupe. This impressive engine produces 863hp and 1,100Nm of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels. The car comes with a 7-speed manual transmission and offers a 7-speed automatic manual transmission with paddle shifters as an option. The top speed is electronically limited to 350km/h.
The price for this ultra-rare Utopia Roadster starts at €3.1 million (about Rs 28 crore). The official global debut of this convertible hypercar will take place next month during Monterey Car Week.
