BMW India has announced that bookings for the new eighth-generation BMW 5 Series LWB are now open. This is the first time the long-wheelbase version of the 5 Series is available in India. Customers can book the car at BMW dealerships or through the BMW online portal starting at 12:00 PM today.
BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter Set for July 24 Launch in India
The BMW 5 Series LWB is initially available in the 530Li M Sport version, with two trim options: Titanium Bronze and Aluminium Satinated. There are two exterior colors to choose from: Sparkling Copper Grey and Carbon Metallic Black. The interior features a unique combination of Copper Brown and Atlas Grey, with perforated and quilted Veganza upholstery.
Compared to the current and upcoming Mercedes E-Class models, the BMW 5 Series LWB is longer, wider, and taller, with a longer wheelbase, promising more interior space. Detailed specifications and pricing will be revealed on July 24, the official launch date.
The new 5 Series LWB stands out with its bold design, including a larger kidney grille, curved LED daytime running lights, and black bumper inserts. Inside, it boasts a dual-screen layout with a 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, reclining rear seats, and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite.
Under the hood, the BMW 5 Series LWB is expected to feature a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A 2.0-liter diesel engine and a mild-hybrid system might also be available soon. BMW is ready to compete head-on with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB, bringing another luxurious and innovative option to the Indian market.
